Volunteering
Do you want to make new friends, who not only love nature but love life? Our volunteers come from every walk of life, with the common desire to save nature and have fun!
Do you love the outside world? How would you like to work with the best in their field, for the best memories and greatest reasons?
As part of the RSPB, our Ecology & Land Management team is keen to work with local volunteers. A little time from you can make a world of difference.
We have a great team of volunteers who not only get to learn new skills but help in contributing to making the natural spaces they love even better.
Whether as an individual or a family, a small team or a large organisation, why not develop existing skills or learn new ones?
When you give a little time to nature, the rewards are great!
Sounds interesting to you …why not get in touch?

“I never dreamt that volunteering with the RSPB Ecology & Land Management team could be so much fun, and such a great way to learn about our local ecology.” A resident from Dorset who worked with the team during the 2016 filming of Autumn Watch at the RSPB Arne Nature Reserve.
“Volunteering with the RSPB Ecology & Land Management provided the perfect onsite experience I needed while studying for my Level 3 Diploma in Countryside and Wildlife Management Management at Kingston Maurward College.” James
Corporate Team Challenges & Days Out
We can offer opportunities across the UK for businesses like yours to help give nature a home by working at one of our spectacular nature reserves.
We offer a day of fresh air, exercise and a life-enhancing experience enjoying the countryside and its fascinating wildlife.
One employee from a large banking corporation praised the experience and the challenges prepared for the team event. He noted that “it was a well organised day – we all loved getting stuck in to work clearing the heaths of pine trees, and loved our campfire cooked lunch.”

The difference you can make
The skills and time provided by corporate teams are incredibly valuable to the RSPB
- Corporate work parties help us tackle jobs that would otherwise take our wardens days or even weeks to complete
- Employee volunteering helps us to build community links and valuable business support
- Many of our business volunteers return to our reserves with family and friends after their volunteer experience. Some even join as members and become lifelong supporters
